1. Require a hike, in Stone Park
There are several pretty great spots to go hiking or camping in our very own State Stone Park. The type preserve is full of adventure, and of course, wild furry creatures which we all love. There are actually multiple campground sites and trails that any outdoors men wouldn’t mind to learn. Stone park even features a beautiful location to grill out where you can picnic. Take a look at Turtle Pond and savor your entire day outside.
2. Catch a show
Our very own Sioux City Community theater and our Shot at nighttime theater always has something up their sleeve. You can go catch a live show and enjoy local talent in stage. From American Idiot, to Heather’s, to Shrek the musical, they’ve got all of it in a reasonable price.
3. Grab a bite to consume at some of our local restaurants.
We have a fun selection of restaurants that happen to be only in Sioux City or perhaps in the nearby tri-state area. Go grab an excellent coffee at either Jitters (they have got the best donuts) or Stone Bru. Or, if you’re planning to have lunch somewhere look at our new Blue Cafe. They may have live music and some pretty decent food. Try the Kale chips!
4. Buy some fresh vegetables and fruit at the Farmers Market
Every Wednesday and Saturday morning the farmers market is to establish near the Tyson Events Center. Local farmers and growers visit sell us a selection of their delicious fresh produce. But veggies and fruits aren’t the only real things you can buy. You may also get some bottles of local honey, bags of local coffee, and fun accessories produced by individuals of Sioux City. Try a cupful of Rosie’s cold brew coffee. It is actually literally to die for. oh, and when they’re there, The Birds as well as the Bees honey is super yummy.
5. Go to Bacon Creek
Bacon Creek has various small parks, a dog park, along with a trail that loops throughout the creek. It’s an entertaining place to venture out about the boat, fish, take a walk, possess a small gather, or to take your dog in the market to socialize with other dogs. It is possible to grab some bratwurst, some buns, a six pack, and view your kids play at the park while you grill out dinner.
6. If they’re in the city, visit the Carnival

Take your household out, or go on a few friends, to view free movies from the park. They movies are set within the bandshell at Grandview Park. Have a blanket, some snacks, and a buddy. They begin June 18th and run on select Saturday nights til August 13th.
9. Explore Downtown
Though our downtown can be on the smaller side perform have a great deal to offer. We have some fun little antique stores, game stores, and restaurants. Browse the Whistler shop and buy a few things with a small amount of history mounted on them, grab a bite to consume at our local Italian restaurants, Trattoria Fresco, or go pay attention to some live music at Vangarde Arts.
10. Check out Saturday in the Park
Every fourth of July weekend there exists a free music festival. Artists visit preform in the bandshell and you can find a lot of little kiosks waiting that you should go and buy something cool. Every kiosk is rented out by local or traveling artists who are show casing their very own hand made items. This current year the Hard Rock is setting the stage with many good music as well as the people of Sioux city are bringing the great vibes plus some very good food.
